Davison, William Henry (Bill)

Passed away peacefully in his sleep after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s on Monday, November 17, 2008 at the age of 81.

Beloved husband of Betty (nee Harris) Davison for 50 years. Loving father of Kathleen Mortensen (Kevin) of Kitchener, adopted daughter Nancy Davison and Lorna Ritchie of Pickering. Dear brother of Mary, Josie, Betty and Jane all of England and Northern Ireland.

Predeceased by his parents Joseph Davison and Mary Ann (nee Polland) and siblings John, Tom, Mick, R.J., Patrick, Audran (Hugh) and Veronica (Rona).

Bill was a Sergeant in the British Army for 11 years from 1942 – 1953 and was a C.A. with Revenue Canada for 22 years.

A man of tremendous faith and charity, Bill was a constant presence in the parish of St. Francis of Assisi in Mississauga for 39 years. He was a lector, cantor, choir member and attended mass almost daily.

A man of words and letters, Bill never hesitated to speak and write his mind and was not intimidated in the least by celebrity or hierarchy. He was a lover of books, music, fine food and all animals.

Bill’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Parish prayers 3:30 pm on Wednesday afternoon. Prayers will be offered in the funeral home chapel at 9:30 am Thursday, November 20, 2008 followed by procession to St. Mary’s R.C. Church for Funeral Mass at 10 am.
